Prestec welcomes Joanne

As we move into 2018, Prestec are welcoming changes that will prospectively benefit its employees and customers.

With recent growth and expansion, Prestec have be able to take on larger projects and contracts, whilst continuing to provide both attention to detail and a high level of skilled workmanship for its customers. To accompany this growth, Prestec are introducing new strategies to help strengthen the development of the Company and its employees.

The Company growth has welcomed the appointment of Joanne Armitage, in May 2017, to assist with HR Business development and skills identity within the team, allowing its employees to both flourish and progress thus providing new and exciting opportunities for its highly skilled workforce.

Joanne has played an important role in progressing these changes within the Company, so we caught up with her, to get to know her a little bit more.

What is your role at Prestec?

I joined Prestec UK Ltd. in May 2017 as HR & Training Manager.

How did you come to take the role at Prestec?

I’m a real believer in things happening for a reason. I was looking for a new challenge where I could make a difference and Prestec were also looking for support in the business to introduce exciting and important changes. It was meant to be.

How would you describe yourself as an individual?

I’d like to think I’m an outgoing, fun person who likes to bring out the best in people. I am passionate about my work and always go the extra mile to accomplish my goals.

What have been your biggest challenge of the job so far?

The biggest challenge so far is introducing change, as nobody likes change, but this is a positive move forward and will continue to help empower our employees.

What is a typical day in the life at Prestec?

There is no typical day at Prestec; every day is different, challenging and fun. Teamwork is key here and we are building a great support network.

Before working at Prestec, what was the most unusual or interesting job you have ever had?

My most interesting job was delivering HR & Business support in a care home. It was definitely a challenge at times, but a very humbling experience. It opened my eyes to different ways we can support people and how feeling valued makes such a difference to people’s lives.
